Cars older than 10 years or with more than 160,000 km no longer have to undergo annual inspection but every two years.
Vans and light commercial vehicles will gradually move from annual to biennial inspections between 2026 and 2028.
Taxis and ambulances must now undergo inspection once a year instead of every six months.
Agricultural vehicles will go from annual to biennial inspections.
Buses no longer have to go for inspection every three or six months, but annually.
Fairground vehicles will also go from one to two years between inspections.
An inspection is no longer required when installing a tow bar
