From 2026, it will be mandatory to receive all B2B (business to business) invoices in Belgium electronically via the Peppol network.
This does not apply to private individuals. Private customers will continue to receive their invoices from us via email.
What is Peppol?
Peppol stands for Pan-European Public Procurement Online and is a closed network that allows you to securely send digital business documents such as invoices. Although the Peppol network was co-developed by the European Commission, it is an international network also used outside Europe and is well on its way to becoming the new standard for sending invoices. Moreover, from January 1, 2026, the Belgian government will require structured electronic invoices via the Peppol network for all business-to-business transactions.
