Inspection of the tow bar

1 min reading time

The tow bar must always be inspected and may not be loaded with a heavier load than stated on the coupling device.

No distinction is made between tow bars fitted at the factory or tow bars installed afterwards by the garage.

Safety precaution

If the trailer has no brakes, an auxiliary coupling must be attached to the vehicle itself and not to the tow bar.

If your trailer has brakes, an emergency breakaway brake cable must be attached to the towing vehicle.

A distinction is made between use: towing more than 750 kg or towing less than 750 kg (or bicycle carrier).
